Opinions on GW play with Apple computer/laptop
I have seen a few videos of people playing on Apple laptops with GW2 using bootcamp.
Is this the only way? Is anyone here playing GW1 on an Apple?

The best way is to install Windows using Bootcamp and run GW in Windows, but there are other methods such as using WINE or Crossover Games, which will emulate the needed Windows functions (at the cost of some performance). I'm not personally experienced with this myself though, so that's about all I can tell you.
As with many of these things, you might get better responses these days by posting in the tech section of GWGuru2 forums.

Because I don't have room in my super-tiny apartment for a desktop, I play GW1 on my MBP (late 2008 model) and have been playing the GW2 beta on it as well.
GW1 runs decently in 1440x900, GW2 does too, without any eye candy. It's not the best of solutions, but it does the trick. I'm moving in September and the first thing I'll purchase will be a new desktop rig :P
I have Windows 7 installed on it with bootcamp. I have never tried wine or other similar programs, but I doubt they'd give the same performance as an actual windows install.

Hey, yes you can use it on a mac. There are ways to actually using it on the OS X system, one of which is in the community works sections of this site. However, the above posts are right in that nothing will be able to beat running it on windows. So if you have the space, it is your best bet.

You could use Wine http://wiki.winehq.org/MacOSX/. Use the official Wine, not a 3rd party.
There's no way I'm dualbooting/bootcamping, life's too short to wait 7 minutes to boot into Windoerz!

It wouldn't take 7 minutes if you had decent hardware.
Also, you could just skip booting into OSX and run Windows all the time.
(plus 7 whole minutes. OMG! Go have a pee, it will be done before you get back.)

That's total time, including the trip to and from the bathroom, stopping at the fridge to get a snack, etc.
